Quakers believe in putting their faith into action. One way we can act on our faith is to contribute financially to organizations that amplify our spirituality with action. Here is who Tacoma Friends supports:

American Friends Service Committee – Founded in 1917, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is a Quaker organization that promotes lasting peace with justice, as a practical expression of faith in action. Drawing on continuing spiritual insights and working with people of many backgrounds, we nurture the seeds of change and respect for human life that transform social relations and systems.

Friends World Committee for Consultation – Answering God’s call to universal love, FWCC brings Friends of varying traditions and cultural experiences together in worship, communications, and consultation, to express our common heritage and our Quaker message to the world.

Friends Committee on National Legislation – The Friends Committee on National Legislation lobbies Congress and the administration to advance peace, justice, opportunity, and environmental stewardship.

Quaker Earthcare Witness – Quaker Earthcare Witness is a network of North American Friends (Quakers) and other like-minded people who are taking spirit-led action to address the ecological and social crises of the world, emphasizing Quaker process and testimonies.

Quaker Voice – Bringing the Quaker voice, guided by testimonies and spiritual devotion, to the formation of public policy in Washington state.

Associated Ministries of Tacoma Pierce County – Associated Ministries is an interfaith organization that unites people of faith to build stronger communities. As a crossroad for communication and cooperation, we engage and equip faith communities and persons of goodwill to address the many needs in Pierce County through advocacy, education, and service.

AID Northwest – Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest.

Nourish Pierce County – Nourish Pierce County provides nutritious food and support services to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. We serve more than 67,000 people annually through our network of food banks across Pierce County, Washington.

Fellowship of Reconciliation – Create a network of peacemakers. Organize and train local activists and justice leaders. Provide a national support framework for groups and communities to mobilize and drive moral movements. Welcome all people of conscience. Improve the lives of the disadvantaged. End structures of oppression, violence and war. Create peace through the transformative power of nonviolence.
