This 2024 documentary explores the rise of Christian Nationalism in the U.S. and its effect on both democracy and Christianity. It includes commentary from Rev. William Barber, Sister Simone Campbell, Reza Aslan, David French, and others. Share snacks, hot and cold drinks, and good conversation at this free in-person event.

Quaker Voice Annual Meeting, Tacoma Friends Meetinghouse, Oct. 3

Quaker Voice needs you, now and in the legislative session that will begin in January. Register here to join our Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 3 at Tacoma Friends Meeting, from 10 am to 2:15 pm, with a welcome session before and workshops after. We strongly encourage you to attend in person in Tacoma. Being together brings energy to us all. Recognizing that many of you will not be able to do that, however, we are offering everything on a hybrid basis.

Opportunities

Donations for the unhoused. Bring items to help unhoused neighbors to Tacoma Friends. Clean clothing, jackets, water bottles, towels, easy-to-eat food items are all appreciated. Volunteers will take them to a distribution site.

Ongoing Peaceful Demonstrations in Tacoma:

  • The corner of 38th and Steel, Saturdays from 2-3pm regarding the conflict in Palestine.
  • 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 5 to 6 pm at the corner of Sprague and 6th (at the corner of Hilltop Heritage Middle School). The organizers are an independent Love>Fear Group composed of people from various faith traditions. will be standing on Monday, March 9th from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m, on the corner of 6th and Sprague. People stand in opposition to fascism and war. They use positive messages and strive for non-violence in speech and action.
  • March 28th – various locations – No Kings Day.

Homeless Outreach – Bring a case of bottled water or other food/supplies to the meetinghouse for distribution to people living homeless.
